Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Obbro Rakaniaga Sdn Bhd and Taiping Food Bank as welfare partners have together carried out comprehensive surveys and visits to the low-income households and vulnerable groups such as those living alone, the empty-nesters, and the disabled, also communicating by way of telephone and home visits to accurately grasp the living and physical conditions of the needy during the epidemic. We take various measures to help prevent and control the damages and negative impacts caused by the epidemic by caring for vulnerable groups to ensure that no vulnerable group is left behind. During this period, volunteers regularly help disadvantaged groups of elderly people living alone, the disabled, and residents in difficulties to provide assistance and comforting them.
- Comprehensive disinfection for many schools in the community free of charge, so that teachers and students can return to school with peace of mind and continue learning in a safe environment.
- Provide free chiropractic consultation for low-income people, and promote the knowledge of spinal sports injuries.
- Voluntary lawyers provide free consultation for the community, including helping to analyses the situations, and providing suggested solutions to legal problems. Our goal is to educate and share legal knowledge with oppressed people to ensure they have the legal knowledge they need to know.
- At present, people are most concerned about how to protect themselves and their families. If you know how to protect yourself, this not only reduce the possibility of being infected, but also help to curb the pandemic. Our volunteer doctors provide public with professional medical knowledge, share practical experience and medical advice to help the public.
- And launched the first no-fee "shared space" platform pioneered in Perak, through the concept of shared space, to promote welfare of the society, talent cultivation and industrial development together. This brand-new idea aims to create a better Taiping by connecting various charities and public welfare organizations.
Because of the word "food" in the name of the Taiping Food Bank, people may misunderstand that it only provides food to the poor. We found that our beneficiaries often have various needs, so we have diversified our operations and provide more extensive help and services, from distributing food to community services, from urban to rural; we are like chameleons, growing in different appearances and functions according to the needs of the community. Together, we brought warmth to the city despites all challenges.
